Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Sickles + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sickles). They came out on top against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats by a score of 90-81 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gryphons also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Sickles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Byam led the charge by shooting 77% from the field on his way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Byam's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Adrian Thomas was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine boards.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tj Aguilar, who posted 15 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Dominick Sabio, who went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points.

The victory keeps Sickles at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 74.6 points this season. As for Wesley Chapel, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Sickles will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wesley Chapel, they will challenge Mater Academy Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
