Highland recap October 29, 2013
Beal City added to the longest winning streak in Highland this week by beating Marion, 70-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Aggies.
Beal City led the league in scoring this week by notching 70 points on the Eagles.
Evart's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Fortune threw for 52 and 1 touchdown and Jacob Hopkins had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Jared Pattee chipped in 73 yards. Pattee helped Evart's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 13 yards.
Pattee was a passing and rushing force as the Wildcats beat Montabella. Pattee's key target this week was Hopkins, who caught 3 passes for 39 yards.
Fortune put up the best numbers through the air as Evart topped the Mustangs.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Patrick Craven's team's Fortune and Hopkins have proven to be a lethal combination. Fortune has thrown for 1,684 yards this season, while Hopkins, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 46 catches for 1,017 yards. McBain's Zach Stephan leads the league in rushing yards with 956.
Stephan of the the Ramblers is only 44 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 142 carries Stephan has put up 956 yards this year.
