It was a proper cat-fight when Donovan challenged St. Anne on Thursday. The Wildcats skirted past the Cardinals 2-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Donovan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Chloe Ponton paced Donovan's offense, picking up six kills. Ponton got some help from Lily Anderson and her 13 assists. Layne Hefflefinger controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Quinlin Kirkland and Demi Duncan certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Kirkland had ten digs, three aces, and one block, while Duncan had seven kills, five digs, four aces, and one block. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Kirkland, who had nine assists and eight digs.

Donovan's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for St. Anne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Donovan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Clifton Central on the 20th. As for St. Anne, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Tri-Point on the 20th.
