Make it eight blowout wins for the Langley Saxons this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Wakefield 62-31 on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Langley who now have nine in a row.
Langley was led to victory by Maddie Shamloo and Anya Rahman. Shamloo scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals, while Rahman scored 19 points. Shamloo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Daley, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Langley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Wakefield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Langley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Generals at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Washington-Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Saxons are ranked 21st). Wakefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
