There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Madison's senior Dante Heaggans, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Madison's 42 - 28 win over Reagan last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Dante Heaggans. Heaggans ran for 227 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance made Heaggans one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between O'Connor (2nd in the power rankings) and Brandeis (9th) did not disappoint. O'Connor came out on top in a nail-biter against Brandeis, sneaking past 30 - 28. No one had a larger role in the success than junior David Dodd, who brought his A game into the contest. He tossed the ball for 280 yards and two TDs.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Wagner offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It put the hurt on Highlands with a conclusive 74 - 15 victory. Wagner found its leader in an underclassman: Lj Butler earned three touchdowns and 155 yards rushing the ball, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. At 89 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Smithson Valley (17th in the power rankings) and Judson (1st). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
