The Lafayette Central Catholic Knights struggled with  assists on Saturday (the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lafayette Central Catholic was beaten by Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory 66-34. While losing is never fun, Lafayette Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 117th, while Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is ranked 22nd).
 Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Ray Clayton, who  scored nine points. Another player making a difference was  Nick Page, who  scored seven points.
 Even though they lost, Lafayette Central Catholic  were smashing the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
  Evan Haywood was  his usual excellent self,  going 6 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 1 assists for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory. The  matchup was  Haywood's fifth in a row with at least ten points.  Reis Butcher was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points along with seven  rebounds.
 Lafayette Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-1.
 Lafayette Central Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully Covington focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be home for the holidays to greet  University at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
