The Jemison Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a rough 42-18 loss at the hands of Selma. Jemison has struggled against Selma recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Jemison's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chaz Melton, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Kintre Jackson who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Selma got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samarion Woods out in front who threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Desmeon Conner was in the mix too, providing Selma with two touchdowns.
Jemison's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. As for Selma, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
Jemison will take on Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Selma, they will head out on the road to face off against Charles Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles Henderson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Selma in Alabama (Charles Henderson is ranked 49th, while Selma is ranked 265th).
