Make it six blowout wins for the Plateau Valley Cowboys this season. They claimed a resounding 82-33 victory over Rangely on the road. Plateau Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Plateau Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Vig, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Vig continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ethan Morse was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight steals.
Rangely lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Allred, who scored four points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Clay Allred, who scored 11 points.
The win was the eighth in a row for Plateau Valley, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Rangely, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plateau Valley will take on Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rangely, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Caprock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Caprock Academy is ranked 265th, while Rangely is ranked 277th).
