Basketball Game Preview: Charles Page Sandites vs. Ponca City Wildcats

Charles Page has gone a perfect 6-0 against Ponca City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Charles Page Sandites will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ponca City Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Charles Page's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Ponca City has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Charles Page made easy work of Sapulpa and carried off a 75-49 win. The Sandites have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Charles Page got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deke Thompson out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least a third of Charles Page's points. Another player making a difference was Khalil Allen, who on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ponca City escaped with a win on Friday against Bartlesville by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41.

Ponca City's win came from a few key players Charles Page will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Adriel Miller, who posted 11 points and six boards. Trenton Wilson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Charles Page is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Ponca City's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-21.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Charles Page hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.2 points per game. It's a different story for Ponca City, though, as they've been averaging only 40 points. The only thing between Charles Page and another offensive beatdown is Ponca City. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Charles Page didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ponca City when the teams last played back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory.
