Pinnacle Classical Academy got a good showing from Holden Carroll, who struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Carroll has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Pinnacle Classical Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan McIntyre, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, The Master's Academy posted their closest win since March 5th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Community Christian Academy, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Joey Negron and Benjamin LaSelle made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Negron tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, LaSelle pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. At the plate, Negron went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while LaSelle went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Negron is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
Pinnacle Classical Academy now has a losing record of 9-10. As for The Master's Academy, their record is now 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pinnacle Classical Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The Master's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pinnacle Classical Academy beat The Master's Academy 14-10 in their previous meeting last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
