The Bingham Miners are ranked highly in their home state, and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders. Bingham fell just short of Monsignor Scanlan by a score of 38-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bingham has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bingham still got an impressive performance from Brianna Badonie, who scored 19 points. The match was Badonie's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addy Horsley, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bingham and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Monsignor Scanlan, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Bingham and Columbia will face off at 10:50 a.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Columbia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 81st in Idaho, while Bingham is ranked ninth in Utah). Monsignor Scanlan is on the road again on Thursday and play against South Shore on December 28th.
