They strolled past North Central with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. Given Evansville Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while North Central is ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evansville Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Kelley's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Canaan, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Evansville Memorial's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Evansville Memorial will head out on the road to face off against Henderson County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Avon at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th.
