The biggest upset of the week belonged to North County, who took down 149th ranked Annapolis, 22-15.
Broadneck was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in Anne Arundel County. The Bruins beat Glen Burnie 23-0 earlier in the week.
Southern's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Corey Contee threw for four yards and Malique Pratt had four yards receiving. On the ground Dejuan Neal chipped in 106 yards.
Alex Holt made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs fell to Severna Park. The 5-foot-10 junior grabbed one sack.
Chesapeake's Brandon Blanchard and Aaron Terry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Blanchard has thrown for 380 yards this season, while Terry, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 14 catches for 200 yards. Neal from Southern leads the league in rushing with 415 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Cougars take on Northeast. Chesapeake's offense has scored 60 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Eagles have allowed only 141 on the year.
A big matchup in Anne Arundel County this week will be when Old Mill takes on Meade. As it stands, the Patriots are in first, while the Mustangs are in fourth.
South River suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 49-6 loss to Arundel. The Seahawks had been ranked 21st, but fell to 56 following the defeat.
