Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights

The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs and the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Westover Christian Academy comes in on three and Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot on four.

On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westover Christian Academy beat Community Baptist 51-46. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 82nd in Virginia, while the Conqueror are ranked 428th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westover Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Malachi Waller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Caleb Hill, who posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Waller has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Chromy, who put up nine points.

Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

While Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Tidewater Academy 57-24 on Monday. That looming 57-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

Westover Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
