On Monday, the Sandpoint Bulldogs faced the Timberlake Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sandpoint walked away with a 47-35 victory over the Tigers. The victory was familiar territory for Sandpoint who now have five in a row.
Sandpoint was led to victory by Brecken Mire and Karlie Banks. Mire scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Banks scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Banks has scored at least a third of Sandpoint's points. Jordyn Tomco was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Sandpoint is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Timberlake, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-4.
Sandpoint won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. The timing isn't great for Moscow: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Bulldogs have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Timberlake will take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
