Connersville is 2-8 against Pendleton Heights since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Connersville Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Pendleton Heights Arabians at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Connersville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Last Friday, Connersville's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 36-27 victory over Franklin County. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 10 to 2 on the offensive boards, as Connersville did.
Connersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahniyah Bennett, who scored eight points along with four steals. Bennett hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Jones, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Rushville, posting a 72-40 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Pendleton Heights has posted since December 7, 2023.
Kaycie Warfel was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pendleton Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Adah Hupfer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Connersville's record is now 11-8. As for Pendleton Heights, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7.
Connersville was dealt a bruising 69-26 loss at the hands of Pendleton Heights when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Connersville, Whitney Warfel (who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
