The Crystal City Javelinas's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 victory over Uvalde. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Crystal City also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crystal City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyson Mata, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds. Lyndsie Bosquez was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Crystal City's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Uvalde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal City will be home for the holidays to greet Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Uvalde will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Floresville at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
