Cheshire is 8-2 against Shelton since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cheshire Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Shelton Gaels at 7:00 p.m. Cheshire is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Cheshire's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past New Milford 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Shelton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 78-53 loss at the hands of Hamden.
Cheshire's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Shelton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
Cheshire skirted past Shelton 51-49 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cheshire since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
