The Las Vegas Wildcats will challenge the Rancho Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Las Vegas was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Coronado. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jesus Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Las Vegas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Romero, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rancho won against Canyon Springs on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Rams were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Cimarron-Memorial. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Rancho also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Christian Lopez Valdez gave up three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Lopez Valdez also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Rams are 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Johnny Ramos was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Rancho is undefeated when Ramos posts three or more RBI, but 5-12 otherwise. Julian Lopez was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Rancho's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Las Vegas, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13-1.
Las Vegas was able to grind out a solid win over Rancho in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-0. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
