Delphi Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-36 win over North Newton. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Oracles have posted since November 30, 2024.
Delphi Community's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xaine Tessier, who posted ten points and four steals. Walker Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sheridan hadn't done well against Rossville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. Sheridan enjoyed a cozy 74-56 win over Rossville. The Blackhawks pushed the score to 57-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets cut but never quite recovered from.
Sheridan's win came from a few key players Delphi Community will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Damon Winston, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Wright, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points along with six assists and three steals.
Delphi Community now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Sheridan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Delphi Community has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sheridan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
