Rowyn Ruddek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aubrey Ruddek was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kathryn Scott, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Richland didn't have quite enough to beat Bellwood-Antis on Thursday and fell 8-7.
Sophie Burke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Addy Matejovich was another key player, going 3-for-6 with two runs.
Central Cambria's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Central Cambria hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Central Cambria's way against Richland in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Central Cambria made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
