The Goshen Warriors came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Wilmington as Goshen made off with a 70-44 victory. Goshen has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Leading Goshen to victory were Bray Settelmayer and Caden Zeinner. Settelmayer scored 20 points along with three steals, while Zeinner scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Settelmayer has scored all season. Conner Moore was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Goshen pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wilmington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goshen will take on New Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Richmond will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 521st, while Goshen is ranked 81st). Wilmington on the road again on Friday and play against Batavia at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Batavia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Wilmington likes a good challenge.
