The Concord Bears will square off against the Berean Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Concord took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Mt. Diablo. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Aislynn Newlin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shay Caban, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ilene Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Concord always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
LeAna Cimarra was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Tafoya, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Berean Christian pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Concord suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
