Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tate

Tate had won two straight games and Keontrez Montgomery did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Tate Aggies walked away with a 54-43 victory over the Escambia Gators thanks in part to Montgomery, who went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was John Hooker, who posted four points along with nine rebounds and three steals. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played.

Tate is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 39.2% in those games and 20.4% outside of them. As for Escambia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Tate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-50 win against Niceville on the 3rd. As for Escambia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-49 victory against Navarre on the 1st.
