Princeton gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past the Spring Creek Gators 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Mary Rachel Uzzell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madison Mitchell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaylee Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
Princeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 7-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Princeton now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Spring Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
