The Park Crossing Thunderbirds scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They secured a 72-67 W over Brewbaker Tech. Given Park Crossing's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Rams are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Park Crossing was led to victory by Caden Anderson-teal and Jayden Scott. Anderson-teal scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks, while Scott scored 20 points along with three steals. Scott is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Berry, who scored eight points.
Despite the defeat, Brewbaker Tech had strong showings from Kevin Honer, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds, and Tyler Dixon, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Honer has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played.
Park Crossing has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Brewbaker Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Montgomery Catholic the next time they take the court. Brewbaker Tech will host Montgomery Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Park Crossing will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
