Chapin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the El Paso Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Chapin was able to grind out a solid win over Andress, taking the game 36-28.
Jasmine Blake and Samantha Wise were among the main playmakers for Chapin as the former scored eight points and the latter scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Wise is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.
Meanwhile, El Paso's game on Tuesday was all tied up 10-10 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Canutillo 38-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for El Paso.
Abby Aragon and Natalia Thomas were among the main playmakers for El Paso as the former scored 14 points along with two steals and the latter scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aragon has scored all season. Emma Guevara was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Chapin's record now sits at 13-18. As for El Paso, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Chapin have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like El Paso struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Chapin ended up a good deal behind El Paso when the teams last played on Friday, losing 44-29. Can Chapin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
