The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 54-20 loss at the hands of Valley Lutheran. Cicero Prep Academy has not had much luck with Valley Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Centurions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maggie Hooppaw, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Johnson, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds.
Cicero Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Valley Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Cicero Prep Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cicero Prep Academy in Arizona (Lincoln Prep is ranked 115th, while Cicero Prep Academy is ranked 290th). As for Valley Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Anthem Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
