Livingston Central and Union County are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Union County will be up against a hot Livingston Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to ten. The Cardinals never let Ballard Memorial get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Sunday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five matches.
Addison Tramble made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adalynn King, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Jennings, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Livingston Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ballard Memorial struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Union County made easy work of Lyon County on Monday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Lyons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Peyton Jenkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Audrey Staley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Sydney Thomas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Livingston Central pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Union County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
Union County's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Livingston Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Union County, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Livingston Central keep running through batters, or will the Braves buck the trend?
