The Meadows School Mustangs will take on the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with The Meadows School sitting on three straight wins and Virgin Valley on nine.
The Meadows School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mater Academy East Las Vegas a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won ten matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Simon Tesfaye made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Semenza, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Hudson Falb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Virgin Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Sports Leadership & Management 4-3.
Tray Hughes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Virgin Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for The Meadows School, their victory bumped their record up to 18-12.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. The Meadows School has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Virgin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
The Meadows School beat Virgin Valley 7-4 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
