Kearney was handed a 22-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Westview on Monday. Kearney sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-69 win over Westview. With that victory, Kearney brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Harley Straka was a one-man wrecking crew for Kearney as she scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Straka has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kennidy Garner, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 58-50 to Bellevue West.
Kearney now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Everything came up roses for Kearney against Lincoln Southeast in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 56-28 victory. Will Kearney repeat their success, or does Lincoln Southeast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
