After a string of three wins, the Rocky River Pirates's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elyria Catholic. Rocky River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elyria Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Rocky River still got an impressive performance from Julian Patti, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hakeem Zayed, who scored ten points.
Rocky River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Elyria Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Rocky River will head out on the road to take on Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elyria Catholic, they will be playing at home against Bellevue at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bellevue is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
