The Gaither Cowboys will head out to challenge the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaither is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Gaither earned an 8-5 win over Robinson. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.
Kacey Wilkes made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Wilkes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Riley Russell was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Alena Alakrah was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mustangs 7-5. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bulls as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Wiregrass Ranch let Aubrey Zechmann and Sophia Estevez run wild. Zechmann scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Estevez went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Zechmann has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Troupe, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Wiregrass Ranch pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Gaither, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Gaither skirted past Wiregrass Ranch 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Bulls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
