Softball Recap: Overton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cane Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Overton). They never let the Cane Ridge Ravens get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Ravens: they've now won eight in a row.

Overton got a massive performance out of Trista Norris, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI Norris has posted since back in April of 2024. Kaileigh McCormick was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

Overton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

The victory got Overton back to even at 3-3. As for Cane Ridge, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overton will square off against Brentwood Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Overton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cane Ridge, they will face off against Hillsboro at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
