Meanwhile, Midland Park hadn't done well against Emerson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Cavaliers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Midland Park also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Julia Henderson gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abigail Kuhnel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Heidi Marcus, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Midland Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.
The victory got Midland Park back to even at 10-10. As for Cresskill, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
