The Bath County Wildcats will challenge the Rowan County Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Bath County easily dispatched Menifee County on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of Bryan Station by a score of 4-2 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Rowan County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Russell on Monday. The Vikings blew past the Red Devils 10-4. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Kassi Perkins made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauryn Eastham, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kelbie Ford, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Rowan County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in ten consecutive contests.
Rowan County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Bath County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.
Bath County might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Rowan County when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
