Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Williston

Williston barely beat Bronson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Williston never let Bronson get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Bertrand made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jayla Coleman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Luna Asencion also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Williston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Williston, bringing their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bronson, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Williston will square off against Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Williston 4, Gainesville 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bronson, they will challenge Cedar Key at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
