North Davidson probably has a sour taste in its mouth after its recent playoff game against East Duplin didn't go its way. North Davidson came up short against East Duplin, falling 38 - 28. North Davidson wasn't expected to win (the team is 32 ranks behind in the MaxPreps state rankings), but no defeat is easy.
North Davidson got first blood with a 81-yard rushing touchdown in its first drive, but East Duplin was able to respond with 28 first-half points. That left North Davidson at a 28 - 21 disadvantage. It allowed ten points to fall even further behind in the second half.
One key standout for East Duplin was Chris Benson #2, who rushed for 279 yards and three touchdowns. This marked the 6th consecutive game in which Benson #2 had 100+ rushing yards.
The win got East Duplin up to 15-0. North Davidson's record fell to 13-2 after the loss.
With North Davidson knocked out of the bracket, only East Duplin will move on. East Duplin will challenge Hibriten Saturday as it continues its playoff run. East Duplin better gear up as this will be its most challenging opponent yet.
