If the Saginaw Rough Riders were feeling good off their 93-40 takedown of the Azle Hornets last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Saginaw fell 56-44 to the Pirates on Friday. Saginaw was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Saginaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaiden Gastile. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Gastile is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Roseberry, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Saginaw has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 23-8 record this season. As for Granbury, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Saginaw will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rider will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 184th). As for Granbury, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
