Basketball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Concord Minutemen

Angola is 7-1 against Concord since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Angola Hornets will head out to face off against the Concord Minutemen at 7:45 p.m. Angola will be strutting in after a victory while Concord will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Angola earned a 64-51 win over Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Bailey Holman had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ava Rinard, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points.

Angola was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Penn and fell 54-25. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Kingsmen are ranked 61st).

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Angola, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Angola against Concord in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 66-23 win. Does Angola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Concord turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
