Basketball Recap: Tucson High Magnet School Skates Past Canyon Del Oro with Ease

Tucson High Magnet School won the last time they faced Canyon del Oro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers blew past the Canyon del Oro Dorados 55-27. The Badgers pushed the score to 55-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dorados cut but never quite recovered from.

Tucson High Magnet School was led to victory by Destiney Brown and Amaya Trujillo. Brown went 8 of 12 on her way to 20 points and six steals, while Trujillo posted 12 points along with seven assists and five boards. That's the most assists Trujillo has posted since back in November of 2024. Josey Wnek was another key player, putting up eight points.

Canyon del Oro's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gianna Kokoskie, who scored six points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Alfaro, who put up four points and four blocks.

Tucson High Magnet School pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Tucson High Magnet School has already played their next match, a 49-44 defeat against Highland on the 16th. As for Canyon del Oro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-24 victory against Desert View on the 15th.
