Trinity Lutheran is 2-8 against Brownstown Central since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. Trinity Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Trinity Lutheran didn't have quite enough to beat Scottsburg and fell 3-1.

Lincoln Huff was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Huff wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Huff, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brownstown Central). They blew past Switzerland County 34-2 on Saturday. Considering the Braves have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Drake Goodpaster was incredible, going 4-for-7 with one home run, eight RBI, and two stolen bases. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Johnson, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Brownstown Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .678. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Brownstown Central's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity Lutheran, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Lutheran has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brownstown Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Trinity Lutheran couldn't quite get it done against Brownstown Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-2. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
