Washington has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the McKinley Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. McKinley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Washington, who comes in off a win.
Washington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over Ashland.
It was another big night for La Nia Moore, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Moore is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Talia Russell, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, McKinley ended up a good deal behind the Bulldogs on Saturday and lost 48-34. McKinley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Washington has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for McKinley, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Washington was dealt a bruising 61-34 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
