In what's become a running theme this season, the Willow Spring Storm gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past Cleveland, posting a 62-32 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Willow Spring as they're now sitting on three straight.
Willow Spring's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Gray, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleen Grullon, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Martina Paz-Aquino, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Paz-Aquino's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
Willow Spring's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Willow Spring will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clayton at 5:30 p.m. Clayton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Cleveland, they will head out on the road to challenge Southeast Raleigh at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Raleigh presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cleveland in North Carolina (Southeast Raleigh is ranked 105th, while Cleveland is ranked 217th).
