Make it six blowout wins for the Northwestern Bulls this season. They were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over Hialeah. Given Northwestern's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Thoroughbreds are ranked 335th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Myron Parker Jr., who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Calvin Russel, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Northwestern pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Hialeah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Northwestern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully Monsignor Pace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Hialeah, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Westland Hialeah will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
