The Mohawk Warriors will face off against the Shawnee Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shawnee will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Mohawk extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 30-2 margin over Bucyrus. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aubrey Gottfried made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mohawk got a massive performance out of Katie Woodland, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those five runs gave Woodland a new career-high. Mallory Brickner was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, five RBI, and one triple.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shawnee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over North Union on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Braves have posted against the Wildcats since April 2, 2021.
Like Mohawk, Shawnee also got a great game from a two-way player: Byanca Dubie. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Dubie was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Holland, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Mohawk, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
