Henry Clay had lost four straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 16-14 to make it five. They took a 17-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern Eagles. On the bright side, the 14- run performance marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Eastern, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

For Eastern's part, Ethan Carroll was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Donovan Webber also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Coming up, Henry Clay will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shelby County at 6:30 p.m. As for Eastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Spencer County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
