Even though the Rutland Hurricanes have not done well against the Northeast Raiders recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rutland skirted past Northeast 53-51. The victory was nothing new for Rutland as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rutland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Simmons, who scored 16 points. Simmons continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Brooks, who scored 12 points.
Rutland's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Northeast, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

As for Northeast, they will head out on the road to take on Academy for Classical Education at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
