Oak Grove is 6-0 against the Timberwolves since February of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Oak Grove Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. Oak Grove is looking to tack on another W to their 12-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Oak Grove put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Ledford for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-38 victory at home. Given Oak Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Panthers are ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oak Grove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Victoria Lockamy out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. Lockamy hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalin Favreau, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Montgomery Central waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Central Davidson with a 48-43 win.
Oak Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Montgomery Central, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Oak Grove took their win against the Timberwolves in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 70-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
