Basketball Game Preview: Logan Grizzlies vs. Green Canyon Wolves

Logan and Green Canyon are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Logan Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Green Canyon Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Logan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Logan is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Field.

Logan might have lost, but man, Reed Olsen was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Olsen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games he's played. Sade Nenbee was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Green Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 69-61 victory over Judge Memorial Catholic on Friday.

Green Canyon's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Logan couldn't quite finish off Green Canyon in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 62-59. Thankfully for Logan, Jared Anderson (who went 7 of 17 on his way to 29 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
